Research Opportunities at McClurg Lab

POST-DOC

We are seeking a highly motivated researcher for an MRC funded project. We want to understand how meiotic genes become reactivated in tumours and develop methods that allow us to study gene reactivation in cancer. You will capitalise on our newly developed promoter activity analysis tools for the meiotic genes of interest combined with detailed cell biology, genetics, genome editing, biochemistry, proteomics and molecular biology to fill this critical knowledge gap in our understanding of cancer development.

COLLABORATIVE PHD BASED AT NEWCASTLE

How does the nucleolus safeguard ribosome production during meiosis? This is a collaborative project between the Schneider and McClurg lab. This project will be based at the Schneider lab in Newcastle with a placement at the McClurg lab in Liverpool. Fully funded 4 year position with funding covering the fees, project costs and a generous stipend.
